Sweet hues that look good enough to eat, first became popular as far back as the 18th century, featuring heavily in interior design of the Rococo period. Fast forward to 2025 and we’ve seen a contemporary resurgence throughout the design world, pastels are making an appearance on everything from dining chairs to tableware.
Candied pastels are the ultimate in ready-made colour schemes, all sharing pale or white undertones, making them perfectly compatible with one another. Marshmallow pinks, lavender blues and sherbet yellows can be used together with abandon or individually as accent accessories. Starting with a monochrome base of white or black, helps to prevent a pastel design scheme from becoming overly sweet.
