Pastel Power

Pastel Power

From coral blush to ethereal lavender, pastel hues stand out for their soft, gentle tones that look good enough to eat. Explore our edit of statement designs, guaranteed to inject a little playfulness into your interior. Sweet hues that look good enough to eat, first became popular as far back as the 18th century, featuring heavily in interior design of the Rococo period. Fast forward to 2025 and we’ve seen a contemporary resurgence throughout the design world, pastels are making an appearance on everything from dining chairs to tableware.

Candied pastels are the ultimate in ready-made colour schemes, all sharing pale or white undertones, making them perfectly compatible with one another. Marshmallow pinks, lavender blues and sherbet yellows can be used together with abandon or individually as accent accessories. Starting with a monochrome base of white or black, helps to prevent a pastel design scheme from becoming overly sweet. Pastels lend themselves perfectly to the most peaceful corners of a home such as a sunny reading nook, a calming lounge area or a welcoming entrance hall.

The Series 7 Dining Chair, designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, has had a brand-new update for the 21st Century with the launch of the 7:14am collection. Featuring a unique pastel coloured palette inspired by the Danish morning light; ethereal tones of pale green, rose and violet creating striking dining chairs, offset by an iridescent rainbow finish to the legs. Combine a matching set of chairs or mix different colours to create a delectable dining space.

If you're looking to incorporate a single pastel element that packs a punch, the Componibili Storage Unit is now available in a rainbow of new shades, in addition to the Bio collection of mint green, lemon sorbet and rose pink. Having established itself as a bonafide design classic, this retro storage unit, crafted from eco-friendly biopolymer, combines a rounded form with a small footprint, functioning perfectly as a bedside table with integrated storage.

Newly launched by Kartell the Aaland Collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola is characterised by a series of inviting curves and organically-shaped seating and rugs in pastel tones. Each lounge chair, sofa and footstool features a generous foam-filled seat upholstered in a tactile stretch bouclé fabric. The seating modules appear like tiny islands, creating new spaces for comfort and togetherness either as a collection or a standalone chair.

Meanwhile, the series of hand-tufted rugs feature adjoining shapes in Himalayan wool, dyed with natural minerals. When it comes to the bedroom, plaster pinks and ocean-inspired blues paint a picture of serenity. We love layering up an abundance of different textures with soft throws, chunky knit blankets and colourful cushions to create an inviting sanctuary of calm.
