The Age Of Nostalgia | Mid-Century Design Classics

The Age Of Nostalgia | Mid-Century Design Classics

A year like no other, 2020 has led us all to reflect on the interior design of our homes, as they’ve become multi-use spaces, for both work and play. Our domestic interiors function simultaneously as home offices, schools and sanctuaries, as we spend an increasing amount of time indoors.

High-quality, natural materials are at the forefront, as we've become more in tune with the environment, our senses awakened by the tactility of natural wood and textiles. New interiors at Aria encapsulate a sense of nostalgia with mid-century design classics, for contemporary homes. Iconic furniture and lighting that reference a bygone era, from the clean lines of modernism to the glamour of the 70s.

Planner Shelving, designed by Paul McCobb in 1949 for Fritz Hansen, references a mid-century modern aesthetic with its Bauhaus-inspired frame, in powder coated steel.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of iconic British furniture brand Ercol. A new arrival to Aria, the Ercol Originals collection, designed by the company’s founder Lucian Ercolani, transports us to the 1950s with design classics including The Windsor Chair and Nest of Tables, crafted from solid ash.

The Pumpkin Premier Collection adds a dose of Seventies glamour to contemporary interiors. Designed by Pierre Paulin in 1971, the sofa and armchair relaunched by Ligne Roset, provide the ultimate balance between style and comfort with their voluptuous form.
