Havas Blanket

A pure new wool blanket naturally dyed with woad and woven in Lapua, Finland, at the historic workshops of Lapuan Kankurit—a fourth-generation family of master weavers. While the pattern is rooted in traditional Finnish textile design, its subtle shifts in yarn colour, density, and grouping introduce a contemporary rhythm. These variations create a soft yet striking geometric motif that reveals new details the longer you look.

The raw wool is thoughtfully sourced: a warm, characterful blend of local Finnsheep and certified Wool Integrity NZ fibres chosen for their durability, softness, and traceability. All yarn is spun and dyed within Europe, ensuring close oversight and high environmental standards. In Lapua, the process comes full circle—each blanket is meticulously warped, wefted, woven, and finished under one roof, preserving both craftsmanship and quality. The result is a textile that carries a deep sense of place, heritage, and material honesty.
