Designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset in 1973, the Togo Large Sofa is one of the most recognisable sofas in the history of design. A generously proportioned three-seater, it invites you to sink in completely – low to the ground, deeply cushioned, and shaped entirely around the body rather than convention. Over fifty years on, it remains as desirable as ever.
This version is upholstered in Coda by Kvadrat – a two-tone contrast weave of 90% wool and 10% polyamide with a rich, tactile handle. The chunky weave brings warmth and depth, with the contrast of tones giving the fabric a subtle, three-dimensional quality that works beautifully with the Togo’s characteristic quilted pleating.
Construction & Comfort
- Five densities of high-quality polyether and high-resilience polyurethane foam provide soft yet supportive comfort
- Elasticity reinforced by buttoned threads – the signature quilted pleating is both structural and aesthetic
- Oversized covers generously quilted with polyester
- Hand-stitched upholstery throughout
- Modular – pairs with the Togo Fireside Chair, Corner Seat, and Footstool

About the Designer
Michel Ducaroy trained at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and spent his career at Ligne Roset, designing across upholstery, contract furniture, and youth ranges. The Togo – conceived at the dawn of the foam era – remains his most celebrated work and one of the most recognisable silhouettes in twentieth-century furniture design.
