Metis Modular Sofa, Creta Fabric

The Metis Sofa designed by Nicola Pavan for Saba, interprets the settee as a changing and organic element. The origins of its name are derived from the ancient Greek word Mètis - a practical intelligence, one that allows for everyday problems to be solved skilfully with elasticity and ingenuity. The practical intuition behind the Metis modular sofa collection is the use of an elegant and visible metal hinge as a joining element between the backrests. This allows for maximum flexibility as each seating module can be moved around, repositioned in different directions and scaled up to create a larger sofa as a household grows. Both linear and visually soft at the same time, Metis is characterised by the detailed quilting that sculpts each volume of the seat, backrest and armrest.

The rotation of the seats allows for multiple configurations and aesthetic styles, making this the perfect choice for both domestic living spaces, as well as contract interiors such as hotels and reception areas.

Materials: Frame of plywood padded with variable-density polyurethane foam. The seat is sprung with elastic straps reinforced with polypropylene. Backrests in plywood with polyurethane foam core 40IP, covered with polyurethane fabric coupled to velveteen. The ergonomic support of the back panels is ensured by elastic straps. The connection joints between backrests are in metal with a black finish. 

Backrest: polyester fiber mixed with washed and sterilised goose feather divided into sections and clothed with 100% cotton fabric.

Soft Seat Comfort version: Seating in 40EM and 25IM with memory foam on the upper side, covered with resin coupled to cotton fabric 100gr/sqm

Upholstery: Cat Lusso: Creta - cotton and linen mix. Cushion covers are fully removable for cleaning.
