With a military aesthetic as its inspiration, Acadia is a lightweight, tough and highly visible watch that made it the essential standard utility timepiece for daily duty on the field. The ultimate evolution of Timex’s classic field watch range created in the 90s, the DNA of Acadia revolves around three key features: it is lightweight, with a fabric strap and resin case, extremely durable and highly visible due to its INDIGLO® Night-Light. Introduced in 1992, this signature blue backlight changed the face of time and revolutionized the way the world reads time in the dark. The perfect everyday companion wherever your day takes you, Acadia features a resin case, a strap crafted from grosgrain and a customised, military-inspired woven label. Available in a choice of colours: a natural green strap with a grey case and orange details, a rich blue strap and case with yellow highlights and sleek black with striking red accents. The unique strap is crafted from grosgrain that feels great against the skin. It is available in two vibrant colour schemes. The yellow strap complements a blue face with yellow and white highlights. The red strap features a blue face with red and white accents. The strap measures 20mm and features a black print on the back. The 40mm case is crafted from resin. It includes INDIGLO® Night-Light, QuickDate® Feature and quartz movement. Acadia is water resistant up to 50 metres.

Timex Story

Timex can be traced as far back as Waterbury, Connecticut in 1854, a time when how you made something was as important as what you made. As the brass industry boomed, they opened Waterbury Clock Company. The result of bringing American ingenuity to European clockmaking was mass-production 40 years before the model T and a $6 watch that almost everyone could afford to use. By 1901, over one million of the one-dollar Yankee pocket watch had been sold. Then, a simple idea revolutionised timekeeping: welding on loops to hold a strap and with a twist of the wrist, the world no longer kept time in their pocket. Timex brand watches arrived in 1950 with the V-conic, the first high-quality, mass-produced watch. By the end of the decade, every third watch sold was a Timex. In 1984 Timex introduced the world’s first sports watch, crossing millions of finishing lines. Their signature INDIGLO® Night-Light, introduced in 1992, revolutionised the way the world read time in the dark, and we haven’t looked back since.
