Madame Lounge Chair

Designed by Nanna and Jørgen Dietzel for Sika, the Madame Lounge Chair broke new ground when it was originally launched in 1951 with its experimental form. The chair is part of Sika-Design's exclusive ICONS collection, which represents design furniture, designed by renowned architects and designers.

Crafted from natural rattan, the Madame Chair was one of the first to use the concept of a one-piece shell, with its curved silhouette is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. Designer Nanna Dietzel began her career as a cabinet maker, graduating from Copenhagen Design School with a degree in furniture design at the age of just 23. Her designs were characterised by an experimental and innovative approach. The Rana Chair was awarded the Cologne Interior Innovation Award in 2013.
