Ninny featured in the short story ‘The Invisible Child’, part of the collection Tales from Moominvalley by Tove Jansson that was first published in 1962. Ninny is so frightened by her former caretaker that she turned invisible. This caretaker gave Ninny to Too-ticky, who brought her to Moominmamma who loved her so much she helped her turn visible again. Now she is part of the Moomin family!
